Learn From a Lifetime in the Word
BraveHouse Academy is taught by Pastor Mark Hodgetts, a seasoned Bible teacher whose passion is equipping believers to understand God’s Word, grow in spiritual maturity, and walk confidently in their faith.
Pastor Mark’s journey of biblical education and ministry spans more than five decades. He graduated from Hoërskool Vereeniging in 1968, continued his theological education at AFM Theological College in 1976, and later attended Rhema Bible Training Center in 1984. As an itinerant preacher, Bible teacher, and founder of EDIFI Initiative, Pastor Mark has devoted his life to proclaiming Scripture and equipping believers with a strong, practical, and enduring biblical foundation.
Pastor Mark and his wife, Pastor Cora Hodgetts, have served together in full-time ministry since 1976, teaching, training, mentoring, and equipping believers around the world. Through Bible schools, ministry, discipleship, and personal mentorship, they have dedicated their lives to helping people discover the truth of Scripture, deepen their relationship with Christ, and confidently live out their faith.
Each BraveHouse Academy video session features approximately 40 minutes of engaging biblical teaching from Pastor Mark, bringing together scriptural depth, spiritual wisdom, and practical application for everyday life.
With a unique gift for bringing Scripture to life, Pastor Mark helps students discover deeper truths and uncover the treasures found within God’s Word. His teaching is rich in biblical insight while remaining warm, clear, engaging, and often filled with humor.
With decades of ministry experience across nations, cultures, and communities, Pastor Mark also brings a distinctly global perspective to the BraveHouse Academy curriculum. While firmly rooted in the timeless truth of Scripture, the teaching is designed to speak to believers wherever they live—helping students apply biblical principles within their own families, communities, cultures, ministries, and everyday lives.
The heart of BraveHouse Academy reaches beyond borders. God’s Word is not limited by geography or culture, and the Academy is designed to equip believers from different nations and backgrounds to know God more deeply, grow in spiritual maturity, and live courageously in the calling He has placed on their lives.
Through Pastor Mark’s approachable teaching style and ability to connect timeless biblical truth with everyday life, students are invited to do more than simply gain knowledge. Heidi Christine is the founder and visionary of BraveHouse and the heart behind the BraveHouse Academy student experience. For more than two decades, she has served in ministry, helping people encounter Jesus, discover their God-given identity, grow in faith, and move forward with courage and purpose.
Heidi completed ministry training through New Life Ministry School and is a trained Zoë Counselor. Together with more than two decades of hands-on ministry experience, her training has shaped a deeply personal and biblically grounded approach to discipleship, prayer, mentorship, spiritual growth, and leadership.
Her heart is not simply for students to learn the Word of God, but to walk it out—allowing biblical truth to transform the way they see God, themselves, their purpose, and the world around them.
While Pastor Mark Hodgetts serves as BraveHouse Academy’s Lead Bible Instructor, Heidi provides the vision and guidance for the overall student journey. Through mentorship, prayer, meaningful discussion, encouragement, accountability, and community, she helps create an environment where students can process what they are learning, ask questions, grow in confidence, and practically apply biblical truth to everyday life.
Heidi’s passion is to see people move beyond simply knowing about God into a life of genuinely knowing Him—becoming deeply rooted in His Word, secure in their identity in Christ, equipped for their calling, and courageous enough to live out their faith wherever God has placed them.
Together, Pastor Mark’s biblical teaching and Heidi’s guidance of the student journey create an Academy experience designed to cultivate more than knowledge.
